Carry on - Rainbow Rowell

I absolutely loved the little bits of Simon and Baz in Fangirl.  I also loved a whole book about them.   While it started off like picking up a book mid series, Rainbow did a fantastic job fitting in all that world building into one book.  I was really excited to pick this on up.

Simon is the Chosen one. Tasked with saving the world from The Insidious Humdrum.  Simon is about to begin his final year at Watford School of Magicks.  Simon shares a room with his nemesis Baz.  Unfortunately Simon cannot enjoy his last year when Baz does not return, and he can't stop wondering where he is.

While Simon hopes that Baz does not come back, when it actually happens Simon is really worried.  Finally when he does come back Simon helps Baz to find out what happened to his Mother.
Even though I thought it started kind of slow.  I really enjoyed the rest of it.  Did it remind me of Harry Potter?  Kind of  but it was still so different.

Loved the Simon, Baz and Penny. I love them all.  Penny was so strong and has such a strong friendship with Simon.    I also really enjoyed all the spells.  The Mages performed magic by saying phrases.  Which I thought was a really clever way for doing magic.

Simon and Baz are very adorable together.  If you have read a Rainbow Rowell book, you know she does a great job putting in cute, romantic scenes and Carry On does not disappoint.    While I knew they would get together, I kept on wondering when.

Well I loved it.  It is not one of my all time favourites but I still loved it so I gave it 5/5.

Had a chance to pick up Carry On by Rainbow Rowell?  What did you think of it?
